In 1962, J. G. Ballard declared that the goal of science fiction from now on should be “inner space,” not outer space. The science fiction (SF) genre that emerged during the era of space exploration was established as a fantasy that depicted space travel and encounters with aliens and used future technology and the coming space age as its motif. At the same time, speculative fiction was developed as a critique of a future vision in which technology was blindly affirmed by depicting the inner life of human beings under such circumstances.
Today we live in a world where virtual worlds, such as metaverse and mirror worlds, are connected to the real world and coexist as part of reality. This change will be visible even after the lifting of the travel restrictions that have been in place since 2020. Our dreams of virtual tourism, dreams of foreign lands, migration, longing for the land, and the changing image of the human being through networked interactions over the past few years may express what could be called a post-Corona theory of landscape from the inside out. Through the works, we would like to think about current mobility and fantasy in this technological context.
